My Story

Almost 20 years ago, after graduating from VCU Brandcenter, I began my career at small shop in San Diego that I knew only from what I had seen in award show annuals. Fortunately I lucked out, at Big Bang Idea Engineering I learned from some amazing people and created enough work to get my next job.

At VitroRobertson I become a Creative Director working on great accounts like ASICS, Baskin-Robbins, and Yamaha and helped win enough new business to double the size of the agency. By the time I was ECD we began winning even larger  accounts like Newcastle Brown Ale, IHOP, Red Robin, Wild Turkey and Petco – doubling the size of the agency once more. After 14 years, I had learned a lot and done enough great work to get my next job at an agency that I had admired forever.

At Crispin Porter + Bogusky I’ve continued learning. Leading accounts like Fruit of the Loom and Jose Cuervo, I’ve worked with some of the most talented people in the industry..

Through it all, I have come to a few conclusions. 1. People make all the difference, especially if you listen to what they have to say. 2.  You can never create a formula for doing great work, the landscape changes way too fast. 3.  There is always more to learn, once you think you’ve figured it all out, you’re already behind. Coincidentally those are the things I love most about the job.
